In anticipation of Virgin Mobile’s charity concert series, developed to support Re-Gen, the brand handed out fliers and wore large helium balloons that directed consumers to RadioShack for a chance to win a coveted all-expenses paid trip to the music festival in Columbia, MD on September 21st!
Over Labor Day weekend Virgin Mobile took its music roots to the streets of Chicago, Boston, D.C., Minneapolis, Seattle, NYC, Dallas and San Francisco. In the most unusual of jam band performances – the Virgin Mobile street performers played instruments on…wait for it…the new Samsung GSIII!
These highly unlikely pop-up concerts didn’t just entertain; they raised money for Re-Generation, the brand’s organization to help homeless youths. Listeners were urged make a donation to the cause via text.

As the season of giving begins, so does GNF’s efforts to pair Virgin Mobile’s Assurance Wireless, a government benefit program supported by the federal Universal Service Fund, with other charitable organizations in an effort to reach a shared target.
Our first pairing was just before the Labor Day weekend, with the well-established Meals On Wheels (MOW) organization at their Annual Conference and Common Goods Expo in Boston, MA.
The goal? To distribute branded tote bags that included turnkey materials for the MOW representatives to use when speaking with their clients about the Assurance Wireless program. The totes were prepackaged with state specific applications, prepaid envelopes and fliers – an easy tool kit of sorts for the representatives to bring back to their communities. In addition to the totes, our staff and brand mangers spoke to the representatives about the real benefits of Assurance Wireless and how their clients’ lives could improve with just a single application.

Chicago in February can be a cold place and everyone is looking to #BREAKFREE from that cold and head somewhere a bit warmer. This past weekend, Virgin Mobile gave the people of Chicago that opportunity.
On Saturday, February 23, Virgin Mobile held the “#BREAKFREE to Miami Scavenger Hunt” in the Park West neighborhood of Chicago around their flagship store located at 2562 N Clark St, Chicago, IL. Consumers who signed up to participate were given clues taking them all over the neighborhood to local hot spots and landmarks such as Floyd’s Barber Shop, The Weiner Circle, and the Goethe statue in Lincoln Park. Those that were able to figure out all the clues then returned to the Virgin Mobile store where, as a result of completing the hunt, they were entered into a random drawing to win a trip for them and a guest to fly down to Miami for a long weekend to BREAKFREE of the cold. On Tuesday, September 25, Alcatel rewarded 75 of its loyal consumers and their guests with a VIP viewing experience at the Great American Ballpark. They watched the Cincinnati Reds defeat the Milwaukee Brewers.
Pre-game festivities took place at the ballpark in the exclusive Cincinnati Bell Wireless Technology Pavilion. Folks were treated to dinner and drinks, as well as given the chance to check out the impressive features of the new Alcatel One Touch 995 mobile handset through a variety of activities. Consumers played games on the device utilizing its HDTV connectivity with the phone’s HDMI port; they took photos with the 5MP camera and wirelessly transfer them to a nearby HDTV utilizing the DLNA photo transfer technology; and to show off the handset’s 4.3-inch touch screen, they competed against one another in a speed texting challenge. Just before first pitch, one lucky consumer who completed all of the activities was awarded with an autographed Joey Votto jersey.
The Boost Mobile / LG USA Concert Series, as part of the DUB Magazine auto show, made its latest stop this past weekend in Los Angeles. Thousands of consumers poured into the LA Convention Center to see amazing custom cars and watch the likes of French Montana and Akon perform.
Those who stopped by the Boost Mobile / LG USA booth were greeted, as always, by a bevy of beautiful Boost Mobile models. Visitors took snapshots with the models and got to test drive the amazing new LG Marquee handset. And those who checked out the LG Marquee were entered into a drawing for the chance to win a set of brand new DropStar Rims to “DUB” their ride. Boost Mobile also treated the children from the Star Education Group to a very special backstage meet-and-greet with concert series headliner Akon.
It was 102° in the shade and the music was hot too at Rock The Bells, a two-day, three-stage hip-hop festival featuring headlining acts Wiz Khalifa, Ice Cube and Kid Cudi at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA. Boost Mobile took center stage engaging consumers in a lively debate of pop culture issues via BBM (Blackberry Messenger). The Boost Mobile experience featured five stations showcasing the latest BlackBerry phones for consumer interaction. Boost Mobile infused the area with energy between sets on the nearby main stage as its DJ and emcee welcomed thousands of consumers during the weekend. While there was no proof of colored smoke or wriggling of noses, wishes came true for consumers in Houston this past week at the Boost Mobile 4Genie Event. Having already granted the wish of affordable 4G service, the Boost Mobile 4Genie decided to personalize his powers by awarding the most creative and original wishes to several lucky consumers.
In Houston, whether trying to beat the heat at The Galleria Mall or embrace it at Kemah Boardwalk, consumers divulged their grandest wish in the 4Genie Wish Fulfillment Center Video Booths. The Boost Mobile 4Genie then reviewed the videos and granted the chosen individual wishes. Just think, if we can grant consumers everywhere AFFORDABLE 4G service – imagine what else we made come true.
